Ava's First Birthday Celebration

Amazing how fast a year can fly by! We had her birthday party in our, at that time almost finished, basement. We had a great time with family and friends, presents and cake. I made a cupcake tower for her guests and she had a small banana cake to go along with her monkey themed party. She especially enjoyed the green (grass) icing on her cake! I made a monkey out of modeling chocolate and she also enjoyed dismembering it! She had a little anxiety at first with all the people and attention focused on her but she accustomed well. Thank you to all who came or expressed birthday wishes. The first one is truly special! I can't believe it, my little girl is now a toddler and is certainly toddling (?) about. She still has her sea legs but is getting stronger every day. Now that we have carpet finally installed in the basement, she has plenty of room to push her little walker around and not have worry about her head and the hardwood floors upstairs meeting (as have happened a few times!) Now if only we can keep her from climbing up the stairs...
